DIY Bag

Hello,

Today I share a quick blog post on how I customised my bag to give a more playful look. I originally bought the bag from Forever 21 in Amsterdam, but as I already have quite a collection of serious/formal looking bags, I thought it would be fun to explore creativity and spice this one up. So here we go......

STEP 1: CLEAN THE BAG

As I'm going to stick things to the surface, it's important to make sure it's clean. I simply used a dry cloth to wipe the surface and get rid of any dust/residue.

STEP 2: IRON PATCH TO FABRIC

The ultimate goal is to stick the ice-cream patch to the bag. But as the patch has a slippery/waxy backing, this may prove difficult. Therefore, I ironed the patch to a random piece of black fabric (I used jersey) to make it easier to stick to the bag.

STEP 3: CUT OUT PATCH

I then used tailoring scissors (much easier to cut fabric with!) to cut the patch out of the fabric.

STEP 4: APPLY GLUE TO PATCH

And then the fun begins!! I used a hot glue gun to apply glue to the back of the patch.

STEP 5: STICK PATCH TO BAG

I then gently stuck the patch to the bag and smoothed it down.

STEP 6: MARK POSITION FOR CRYSTALS

Using a ruler and pencil, I (tried to) marked the position for the crystals. To be honest I tried to do this whilst watching some youtube vlogs and ultimately messed up the pattern - hence the random order!

STEP 7: STICK CRYSTALS TO BAG

Using  specialist adhesive and a tweezer, I stuck the Swarovski crystals to the bag.

STEP 8: ADD POM-POM BALL TO BAG

For an extra dose of fun, I attached a fur pom-pom ball to the side of the bag.

VOILA.....

Battalion

Hello,

I have to admit I had way too much fun planning for this blog post! It all started when I locked eyes with this top at H&M. I love how it’s shiny but yet delicate. It would have been very conventional for me to pair it with white or nude but somehow the colour Khaki seemed so appealing. This then lead to me deciding to go for the whole military-chic look and add the lace up boots, aviator shades and Italian army hat. Despite the constant glaring of passers-by, I definitely plan to have more fun with dress-up! Thank you for reading, have a wonderful week!

Earth Tones

Hello,

Today, I thought I’d pay homage to the autumn/winter weather and play around with some earth tones. As I've been wearing trench coats for quite a while now, I also wanted to share the various ways in which they can be styled. Although the outfit is generally causal, I opted for the cat-eyed sunglasses for some extra personality. Also, during this period here in the UK, we wear the red remembrance poppy to pay respect to the members of the armed force who died in the line of duty. Thank you so much for passing by, have a fabulous week ahead!

La Dolce Vita

Hello,

There's something very passionate yet striking and sultry about a lady in red! I'm not quite sure if the colour is simply aesthetically pleasing or if there's some hidden cryptic message it sends to the brain. I always feel that white adds class to red outfits so I opted for this structured blazer for a little cover-up. And finally for a touch of romance, I (woke up super early!) added some side-swept curls. Thank you for visiting, have a fabulous week ahead!

Monochrome

Hello,

The weather in London was so gorgeous today, I think it’s finally spring!!! Today I went for a more ‘cheap and chic’ look and wore some very inexpensive items that were mostly from Ebay! I’ve been finding it especially difficult to find a red lipstick shade that I felt comfortable with (i.e suits my skin tone). But the other day a total stranger let me in on her secret: wear a purple lipstick base first and then apply the red lipstick on top. I’m super pleased with the result. For this look I chose to wear MAC’s ‘Russian Red’ lipstick on top of Collection 2000’s ‘Scorned’ lipstick. Thank you for visiting and I wish you a lovely week ahead!

Kensington

Hello,

Sincerest apologies for not blogging for such a long time.  January brought a dramatic (but good) change to my life that required my full attention.  But now I’m fully settled and can finally proceed with life! Today I met up with my sister for brunch and wanted to wear something fairly simple with a touch of sophistication. I bought this coat during the Zara sale last year; I love how it literally formalises every outfit. I also transformed the jumper into a crop top (DIY) in order to remove any visible seam lines on the skirt. Thank you for reading & have a lovely warm week ahead!

PVC

Hello,

I am an avid believer of the fact that one can never wear 'too much black'. There's something very laid back but yet chic and sophisticated about that mystical absence of colour we call black. For this post I thought I'd soften the edgy look of the PVC with a fluffy jumper. And for a touch of 1950's glamour, I opted for the cat-eyed sunglasses and quiffed hair. Thank you for stopping by, I wish you a fabulously amazeballs week ahead!
